After consecutively joining United Nations (UN), attending the World Economic Summit 2019 in India as a chief guest, and a bilateral visit to India, the Prime Minister of Bangladesh met a press conference on October 9 where she expressed about the activities related to those three occasions. Besides that, she talked about some of the important issues which were the signal to the future connectivity within South Asia and East Asia.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina

Returning from the World Economic Summit 2019 and the bilateral visit to India, Sheikh Hasina, the leader of Bangladesh, indicated some important signals to Myanmar, China, and India stating that her country would be connected with China-India-Myanmar link road. It's a great statesmanship of a leader, Sheikh Hasina. However, now the world knows that in Bangladesh Rohingyarefugee is a big and involved issue. These Rohingyas are the citizens of Myanmar, but they pushed 1.1 Million citizens to Bangladesh and demurred to get them back. In the recent UNGA, the leader of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina, also drew the heed of the world communities concerning Rohingya refugee pedagogy. She came up with four points for dissolving this issue, but the position of Myanmar is still ambiguous, for why they are cryptically gainsaying to get their citizens back is also obscured.

However, in this situation, Sheikh Hasina had shown multiple statesmen ship, and she did not lock up other issues with Myanmar; moreover, she told Bangladesh would join China-India-Myanmar road link. In all over the world, successful diplomacy and the economic issue have never been so rigid taking a single issue, for instance, we have seen Pakistan and India could not fix their many issues up, even the South Asian Association of Regional Co-operation (SAARC) is not functioning for these two countries for a single issue, which is Kashmir. It is, no doubt, the short come of diplomacy and statesmanship of these two countries. Sheikh Hasina did not step up in this way rather she approached toward modern and broad economic diplomacy by endeavoring to dissolve the Rohingya refugee issue as well as by joining the China-India-Myanmar road link. By knowing that, if she did not join this link road project, ultimately, her country would be going to miss a new train. This China-India-Myanmar link road will certainly open a new connectivity through Eastern Asia to South Asia and Bangladesh is its gateway. So, as a gateway, Bangladesh will be more benefitted. Through this link road, Sheikh Hasina did not make this mistake lose the opportunity. Therefore, through her press conference, it is clear Bangladesh is going to join that road connectivity.

Not only that, Sheikh Hasina also expressed regarding another way of connectivity in that press conference. She informed the Journalist that the new Seaport, Payra Seaport of Bangladesh, would be used by all the South Asian and Eastern Asian countries. Besides, Bangladesh will establish a bay terminal by the side of the Karnafuli River Tunnel in Chittagong. Like the Payra port, this terminal is open for Eastern and South Asian countries. On the other hand, Bangladesh will use most of the Indian port which is necessary for Bangladesh. Giving this information, The Prime Minister of Bangladesh also said, a country cannot be developed alone and now it is the time of connectivity. So, the countries who are implementing various types of connectivity will be the ultimate winner in the coming time.

In this context, she also added green energy connectivity. She pointed out that her country is going to buy electricity from Bhutan and Indian state Meghalaya's hydro-electricity plant. We know that Bhutan and some of the North-East states of India like Assam and Meghalaya have a huge potential asset of hydro-electricity. For maintaining ecological balance, the world is much emphasizing on green energy. The Prime Minister of Bangladesh informed the journalist that she is trying to make it possible through regional electricity incorporation. Beside that hydro-electricity, we know Bangladesh and India are evaluating the probability of another kind of green electricity in the Indian state Rajasthan which is solar power plant. Both the countries are preparing their statistics on how Bangladesh can buy this electricity from the Rajasthan solar power plant. If this is possible, it will prove that all types of connectivity not only help the economy but also help the nature and maintain the balance of ecology. Bangladesh is a small country with a dense population. Thus, its leader also thinks very positively for protecting it in any possible way. Above all, it is the connectivity in relation to the neighbor by which Sheikh Hasina is endeavoring to save her country’s nature.
