“Not Quuuuuit” say the English?

The people of Sri Lanka are not that dumb or imbecile either, not to understand the “goings on” before the Presidential election? Our people have the tolerance and the judgment to deliver the right result and choose the right candidate to safeguard our nation.

What you think you know and what you think you see, is not what you say it is?

“Not quite” is the word they use to describe anything out of the ordinary in England.

What we saw happening in London over the weekend with near pandemonium on the streets because of Brexit, or the so called marches against a “No Deal” Brexit is not anything to compare the Yellow Shirts movement of France, or the “Umbrellas and Face Masks” Black Shirts of Hong Kong.

We are told according to the papers that Boris ( Big Boris, as I call the Prime Minister) tells the Tory Rebels –“it’s me or Corbyn chaos” or “Bring down Boris, you won’t dare,” says The Mail on Sunday.

In an interview with the Sunday Times, the British P.M. sheds light on how he is approaching the job, saying he is “hugely” enjoying it and is “working” non-stop.

Contrast this with Sri Lanka

Who said we are at sixes and sevens with our Prime Minister, having one thing on his mind and another thing by flying to the Maldives, according to the papers, while all he needs to do is to forgive and forget what Sajith Premadasa’s departed mother, Hema Premadasa, said about him years and years ago?

We all know that’s not quite the reason? Ranil is a far thinking man and wants to keep the country in suspense?

We are told according to the papers that Boris has on his mantle piece at No.10 Downing Street – a Digital Clock counting down the hours, minutes and seconds until Brexit is due. The paper points out that he is “deadly serious” about making sure the UK leaves 31 October 2019.

What more, coverage of the ongoing row over the suspension of Parliament, continues to dominate the pages? But does anyone worry?

Who said that Opposition Leader Mahinda Rajapaksa and Prime Minister,Ranil Wickramasinghe had forged an Alliance to stop the Presidential election? Does anyone believe this “fake news”?

Wouldn’t Ranil be creating a Constitutional Crisis, not really, because both Mahinda and Ranil are so shrewd that each will not ever sacrifice their parties?

Power of the people

The people of Sri Lanka are not that dumb or imbecile either, not to understand the “goings on” before the Presidential election? Our people have the tolerance and the judgment to deliver the right result and choose the right candidate to safeguard our nation.

The Venerable Mahanayake’s are like a Second Chamber, steadying the nation, the fancies of our politicians with foresight and forbearance.

The Working Class and particularly our women are the backbone of our society. There is nothing that will dare go past their scrutiny.

More than that it is the discipline of our Security Forces that will maintain the dignity and solidarity of our nation at all times.

Sri Lanka is not a “tin pot nation” that will crumble at a crisis. The world knows our resilience.

Our centuries old tradition and our Buddhist way of life will always keep us to the “Middle Path” which the Buddha taught and which we will adhere to always against all odds.
