Columnist says Modi’s Hindutva created an "Israel in India".

On Monday 5 August 2019 the Hindutva government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced its decision to abrogate Article 370 on Jammu and Kashmir and rushed through a presidential decree to scrap the special status for Indian administered Kashmir.

In doing so Modi government annexed Jammu and Kashmir in violation of the constitution, international agreements, UN resolutions, democratic and moral principles demonstrating its scant respect for law and order.

India used deception as instrument to hoodwink the world and savage repression to crush Kashmiri uprising for freedom and human rights .Thus successive governments in New Delhi failed to win the hearts and minds of peace loving Kashmiris who were predominantly Muslims

Announcing the revocation decision, Home Minister Amith Shah told the parliament that the president had signed a decree abolishing Article 370 of the constitution.

“The entire constitution will be applicable to Jammu and Kashmir state,” and the government also decided to split the state into two union territories – Jammu and Kashmir, which will have a legislature, and Ladakh, which will be ruled directly by the central government without a legislature of its own” ,he said

The article 370 gives special status to the state of Jammu and Kashmir. This include the power to have its own constitution, flag and autonomy over all matters, save for certain policy areas such as a foreign affairs and defense. It forbid Indians outside the state from permanently settling, buying land, holding local government jobs and securing education scholarships.

Article 35A of India’s constitution permitted the local legislature in Kashmir to define permanent residents of the region. The article came into being in 1954 by a presidential order under the constitution’s Article 370.

This announcement was made against the will of the people after imposing a complete shutdown of the state.

To begin with more than 40,000 troops were dispatched to ensure people remain confined to their houses and there was no popular uprising. Phone lines, both land And mobile, internet and Section 14 were banned to ensure that no voice from the ground reach the mainland .There shall be no movement of public and all educational institutions remained closed.”

Amidst growing panic political leaders including pro-India leaders from the region such as former chief ministers Mehbooba Mufti and Omar Abdullah, were placed under house arrest.

National Conference leader Chief Omar Abdullah said that the Government of India “has resorted to deceit and stealth to lay the ground for these disastrous decisions.”’ Unilateral and shocking decisions are total betrayal of the trust that the people of Jammu & Kashmir had reposed on India when the state acceded to it in 1947. The decisions will have far-reaching and dangerous consequences. This is an aggression against people of the State.

Mehbooba Mufti said “today marks the darkest day in Indian democracy. Decision of Jammu and Kashmir leadership to reject two nation theory in 1947 & align with India has backfired. Unilateral decision of Indian government to scrap Article 370 is illegal & unconstitutional which will make India an occupational force in J&K.

Scrapping Article 370 is a historic blunder the consequence of which is likely to unfold in the weeks, months and years to come. This was done in close coordination with Modi’s best friend Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. It is common knowledge that Hindutva and Zionist were two sides of the same anti-Muslim fascist coin. Hatred towards Islam and Muslims remain the binding factor between the two.

According to independent reports Israel advised India to colonize Kashmir with Hindutva thugs in the same way it colonizes occupied Palestinian territories. All what was needed is to set up a corrupt administration in Kashmir in the same way Israel set up a corrupt Palestinian Authority which turn blind to Israeli colonization of West Bank with Jewish gangsters imported from all over.

When Israel supports India, its US-European collaborators such as Britain, France and Russia fall in line as they had been doing for decades covering up Israeli barbarity.

According to a 2015 Al Jazeera article, India and Israel enjoy a strong alliance. India is one of Israel’s biggest arms exports clients, spending around $10 billion in a decade. The article also mentions that Israeli armed forces have been training Indian police in “anti-terror” operations, a euphemism for Israel’s oppressive treatment towards Palestinians.

Under the title “A New Israel is born in India” Columnist Andrew Korybko described India’s revocation of Kashmir’s relative “autonomy” embodies everything that its new “Israeli” ally wishes it could do to Palestine.

According to reports a full-blown settler colonial project has already begun in Kashmir. It is unlikely Kashmiris will take this lying down. In the last 30 years, more than 80,000 Kashmiris have been killed, an unremitting military occupation has wantonly destroyed thousands of other lives, and there is an entire generation of people who gave everything to resist it. They will not go silently into the night

Many now fear that either a short term attempt at genocide against the Muslim majority of Indian annexed Jammu and Kashmir will take place or that otherwise an intensified campaign of ethnic cleaning is about to commence. The inward flow of thousands of heavily armed Indian soldiers into Jammu and Kashmir has only added fuel to this potential fire whilst the withdrawal of Hindu pilgrims from the disputed territory is an equally ominous sign.

In either case, the wider world has ignored the issue with the exceptions of the Turkish President and Malaysian Prime Minister who have each expressed concern in phone conversations with Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan. But everywhere else in the world, the story hardly registered. This latter point is as important as the events on the ground in Kashmir.

The decision threatens the demographics of the region which is claimed by both India and Pakistan. The UN passed a resolution of the right to self-determination in 1949, arguing that Kashmiri people should be allowed to choose whether they would embrace India’s or Pakistan’s sovereignty. The referendum was never held, however. Frustrated by the dithering, many Kashmiri youths started an armed insurgency against India in 1989, which provoked a violent response from the Indian state, leading to the killings of tens of thousands of people.

Since then, some Kashmiris have fought to join Pakistan while others have sought complete independence, free from both Pakistan and India.
