Sri Lankan Air Force gives authority to manipulated bidder to overhaul Antonov?

“Information provided by the representatives of MFG LLC and its local agent on service life extension of AN-32B aircraft No SCM-868 of SLAF is not true,” a letter addressed to the Sri Lankan authority has been accused against a bidder of the tender for overhauling and service life extensions of Antonov flights own by Sri Lanka Air Force.



Reliable information in the Ministry of Defence reaffirmed the letter sent by a foreign country through its diplomatic mission based in New Delhi and slightly indicated it may cause diplomatic raw between two nations.

“The MFG LLC and its local agent in Colombo have been cynically manipulated the facts and figures to win this tender by putting not only the Sri Lanka Air Force but also the country at unnecessary risk,” a key level defence source said.

The official website of the MFG LLC has noted as its main activities, “Production and overhaul of armament and military equipment including dual-purpose aircraft equipment: electric power supply devices elements, mechanical assemblies and parts of navigation, flight and radar equipment.

Founded in 1994 MFG (Aircraft Components Sourcing Group) is a Russian military company based in Moscow affiliated with several partners. However, the official website of the MFG LLC has not mentioned Kiev-based aeronautics company, Antonov as one of their partners.
