Sri Lanka: Rajapaksa new Leader of Opposition

Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa has named as the Opposition Leader of Parliament replacing TNA leader R Sampanthan. Meanwhile, Mahinda Amaraweera appointed as Chief opposition organiser replacing JVPs Anura Dissanayake.

However, Mathiaparanan Abraham Sumanthiran of TNA has objected the decision as Rajapaksa has changed his political party by taking membership of the newly born Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna.

Meanwhile, SLFP MPs Vijith Vijayamuni Zoysa, Indika Bandaranayake and Lakshman Senaviratne joins the UNF led govt by crossing over in Parliament
