Sri Lanka: They offer 100-250 million per head --- Prime Minister

Role of the President's brother Dudley Sirisena, multi-billionaire, was exposed on video

( November 1, 2018, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) In an interview with Indian television channel NDTV, Prime Minister Ranil Wickramasinghe has disclosed that the President Maithripala Sirisena and former President Mahinda Rajapaksa are offering 100 – 250 Sri Lankan rupees per one member of the Parliament who is willing to cross over and supports the Rajapaksa to ensure the majority in the house.

The same allegation of Prime Minister was earlier exposed on local media by issuing a short video clip where the President's brother Dudley Sirisena, multi-billionaire, is mediating for buying members of parliament to show the majority in the parliament in forthcoming floor test. Along with Dudley Sirisena, President Sirisena, Parliamentarian Rajapaksa, and Member of the Parliament who was later crossed over appeared on the exposed video clip.

President Sirisena on last Friday sacked the Prime Minister and appointed former President as his Prime Minister. But his appointment is locally and globally yet to be recognized.

Many experts on constitutional law have categorically denied the arbitrary decision of the President and called it as “unconstitutional” coup.
