( October 28, 2018, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) Member of parliament and a son of former President and installed Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa, Namal Rajapaksa appeared before the Police Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID), Sri Lankan state agency for financial crime investigations and law enforcement, earlier today (October 28) following a court order that he had received.
He had arrived at the FCID dressed in shorts.
Namal Rajapaksa appears before the FCID monthly, following a court case which was filed at the Colombo High Court regarding an alleged misappropriation of Rs. 30 million that took place during a deal between the company Gowers Corporate Services, owned by him and another company.
He is also under investigation for a court case which was filed at the Hulfsdorp Magistrates Court for misappropriating Rs. 7 million which had been provided by an Indian company named Krrish Lanka for the development of Rugby in the country.
