( April 5, 2018, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) The No-Confidence Motion (NCM) on Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has defeated in Parliament a short while ago.
A total of 76 MPs voted for the motion while 122 voted against it. Twenty-six MPs were not present in the chambers at the time of the vote.
The vote at 9.30pm today was the culmination of a 12-hour debate that began this morning with many MPs speaking for and against the Motion.
