( April 4, 2018, Colombo – Moscow, Sri Lanka Guardian) It says that they are going to attend one of most important international defence conferences, but speculations spreading within the defence institutes are giving a different version.
The Secretary, as well as one of the additional secretaries ( procurement) of the Ministry of Defence along with the Commander of Navy, were landed in Moscow short while ago, a reliable sources in Moscow told the Sri Lanka Guardian.
According to a key level source in the Ministry of Defence has clarified anonymously that the state delegates went to Russia to attend one of the “most important security conferences.”
However, a source in Moscow says, the controversial defence deal where the Government of Sri Lanka is planning to buy an Offshore Patrol Vessel ( OPV) under Russian state credit line will be finalised during the visit.
