( January 3, 2014, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) Around five more stalwarts of the Government led by the President Mahinda Rajapaksa, are to join the common candidate Maithripala Sirisena soon say reliable sources.
Nandimithra Ekanayaka convening a media conference at his residence today (3rd) has said a very powerful person from Mahinda faction would join Maithri within the next two days. Also stalwarts of the government from Colombo, Kalutara, Gampaha, Kurunegala and Kandy are to join Maithri soon.
UPFA Member of Central Provincial Council R.G. Samaranayaka crossed over to Maithri today. According to sources in Mahinda an exercise has been activated to win several from the UNP if powerful persons from the Mahinda leave to support Maithri.
Meanwhile, several artistes supporting Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksa at present are to join Maithri soon sources added.
Meanwhile, heartbreaking news of Rajapaksa reported where, Mr. Sumanadasa Abeygunawardene, the chief astrologer for Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksa, has been admitted to Sri Jayawardenepura Hospital suffering from a heart attack.
Mr. Abeygunawardene has been admitted to a class one ward. As the local media had revealed Mr. Abeygunawardene had been very concerned regarding Mr. Rajapaksa’s election campaign and what would be the final result.
It was Mr. Abeygunawardene’s instructions that Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksa carried out regarding his election process. However, the breakdown of Mr. Rajapaksa’s campaign and the imminent defeat he is faced with would have caused Mr. Abeygunawardene much stress.
