( January 10, 2015, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) The army spokesman dismissed reports that stones had been hurled at military camps in the north as well as flags hoisted by the LTTE a day after the Presidential election.
Issuing a Media statement army spokesman Brigadier Ruwan Wanigasuriya said the north and east of the country was as peaceful as it was in other parts of the country and that there was no truth in any reports of stones thrown at the camps of military personnel or the LTTE hoisting flags.
He said the only development that had taken place was that security in the country had been tightened in the aftermath of the election.
The LTTE was demolished in 2009.
