( January 9, 2015, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) The 9th of January marks 2 years since the unjust and unlawful impeachment vote was taken up in Parliament. It is therefore symbolic that the people have voted for a change; a change into good governance, a change into anti-corruption and a change into an independent judiciary. 730 days of vilification ends today. As justice grows near, my fervent wish for this nation and its people is a prosperous future and a compassionate government - one that favours justice over safeguarding the unjust, integrity over corruption and rights of the masses over a minority elite few.

ජනවාරි 9වන දිනට, නීත්‍යානුකූල නොවු සහ අසාධාරන දෝෂාභියෝගය, පාර්ලිමෙන්තුවේ ඡන්ද විමසීමට ගෙන, වසර 2ක් සම්පූර්ණවේ. එබදු පසුබිමක් තුල යහපාලනය සපිරි, දූෂණයෙන් තොර මෙන්ම, ස්වාධීන අධිකරණයකින් සමන්විත අපේ රටක් සදහා අපේ ජනතාව, නිදහස් මතධාරීව, ස්වකීය ඡන්දය භාවිතා කිරීම දෛවෝපගත සංසිද්ධියක් වේ. දින 730ක් පුරා ඇදී ගිය කෲරත්වයේ නිමාව සනිටුහන් කරන මොහොතක, යුක්තිය කෙමෙන් කෙමෙන් අප කරා ලගා වෙද්දි, අසාධාරනය, දූෂණය සහ වංචාව පිටු දැක, බලවත් සුලුතරයකගේ නොව, සමස්ත ජනතාවගේ, පුද්ගල අයිතිවාසිකම් ආරක්ෂා කිරීම කෙරෙහි, මූලිකත්වය ලබා දෙන, යුක්ති ගරුක අනාගතයක් උදා වනු දැකීම, මාගේ පරම පැතුමයි.
