( June 21, 2014, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) The Panadura ‘No Limit’ store was destroyed in a major fire early this morning and a tense situation later arose with people alleging the Muslim owned store was set on fire, reports from the area said.
Firefighters took several hours to control the blaze which spread inside the building.
The police Special Task Force (STF) was deployed to the area to bring the tense situation under control and prevent any violence.
According to reports circulating on social media there were several explosions before the fire indicating that petrol bombs were thrown at the building. However the police say the fire could have been caused by an electric short-circuit.
Reports said that four employees of the store were inside the building at the time of the fire but no one was injured.
Meanwhile, a group named as Operation SriLanka decided to block all websites operated by the SriLankan government. This decision was made to take revenge on Lankan government for attacking Muslim in the country.
At present they have hacked the official website of SriLankan high commission in Britain and several other state websites.
