( June 21, 2014, Tel Aviv, Sri Lanka Guardian) Sri Lankan embassy in Israel in collaboration with the Export Development Board in Sri Lanka, Ministry of External Affairs in Sri Lanka, LR Group in Israel and the Israel-Asia Chamber of Commerce in Israel has organized a “Business Forum” for the Sri Lankan and Israeli business communities from the 25th to 27th June, in order to strengthen Bilateral, Commercial, Trade, cultural and other relations between the two friendly nations.
Program for the day one: - inauguration will take place at Sharon Hotel, Hertziliya and sponsored by LR group.
Speakers will include,
• “Sri Lanka-Israel relations and way forward” Chief Guest Hon Neomal Perera, Deputy Minister External Affairs.
• “Economy in the New World Order” Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe, Deputy Governor of the Central Bank.
• “Sri Lanka as One of the Best World destinations for Investment” Dr. Lakshman Jayaweera, Chairman, Board of Investment .
Program for the day two: - Organized by the Israel-Asia Chamber of Commerce, Israel.
Speakers will include,
• The Introductory note and greetings by HE Sarath Wijesinghe, The Sri Lankan Ambassador in Israel.
• Opening note and welcome by Mr. Ran Cohen, President, Israel-Asia chamber of Commerce, Israel.
• “Sri Lanka-Israel relations and way forward” Chief Guest Hon Neomal Perera, Deputy Minister External Affairs.
• “Economy in the New World Order” Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe, Deputy Governor of the Central Bank.
• Networking and Business meetings with Israeli companies and entrepreneurs.
• Afternoon Site visits
o Holon Institute of technology (HIT)
o Israeli Diamond centre (IDC), Ramat Gan
Program for the day three: - Allocated to visit Historical, Religious and Technical places sponsored by LR group.
There are over 40 participants from various “Disciplines and Sectors” from Sri Lanka. The participants form Sri Lanka will interact with the Israeli counterparts at both events and at the hotel (one-to-one and collectively). Those who wish to take part in the forum on day two and the Ambassadors reception on day one should complete the following (format 001) to be invited for the event and the reception.
In any event, Sri Lankan Embassy in Israel is open to respond and/to assist you during /after this “Historic Trade Mission”. Arrangements are being made for a “Major Trade Mission” to Sri Lanka from Israel in the beginning of September 2014; those who would like to participate may communicate with us with their respective profiles.
