( May 23, 2014, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) Stage play producer Nishman Ranasinghe, also a sports journalist, today (22) held the Muhurath Festival for his latest creation ‘Gelavijjawa’ at Gandhara Institute in Kirulapone.
Mirror Girl (www.mirrorgirl.lk) website editor Himashi Karunaratne debuts into stay plays through the character ‘Latha’ in this stage play.
Himashi is also a much-admired dancer and painter.
The setting for ‘Gelavijjawa’ is also by her.
The cast also includes Udeni Alwis, Nishman Ranasinghe, Suresh Harshajeewa, Theekshana Gammanpila and Nirasha Edirisinghe.
Music is by Amila Nidahasa Dissanayake, lighting by Wasantha Kumara, make up by Suresh Harshajeewa and clothing by Nishman Ranasinghe.
Assistant producer is Suddamma S. Pahalagama.
Nishman Ranasinghe previously produced ’Weerayo Maranna Be’, which made history as a stage play contributed to by prisoners only.
