( March 23, 2914, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) Two of the three suspects arrested over the death of the OIC at Boralla police station, Prasad Siriwardena who died while attempting to bring down a rubber tree by protestors during a public demonstration at Thunnana in Hanwella last week, are due to die tonight (23), a reliable source in the intelligence establishment informed the Sri Lanka Guardian short while ago. However, the third suspect is yet to be arrested.
The two are due to die while attempting to attack policemen with the axe they had used to cut the rubber tree when they are to be taken to find it.
One of the suspects is 51 year old Ilandari Pedige Sarath, a resident of Thunnana, who was arrested by the CID when he was in Trincomalee. The other, Pedige Nimal, was arrested in Ratnapura.
Senior DIG and the Bake House owner, Anura Senanayake who is not only a senior police officer but also a close friend of Defence Secretary Let. Col. (Rtd.) Nandasena Gotabhaya Rajapaksa, has ordered that without worrying about ‘B’ reports to produce the suspects before courts, they should be eliminated.
