( January 4, 2014 -Colombo -Sri Lanka Guardian) China Development Bank will fund four road construction projects worth 2.2 billion rupees (about US$16.9 million).
Accordingly, 11.95 km of Narandeniya - Hakmana road, 23 km of Ayalama-Egalaoya road, 26 km of Gampola road and 31.89 km of Hatton- Maskeliya road will be constructed under the four projects which will be 92.84 km altogether.
As the Minister of Highways, Ports and Shipping the President Mahinda Rajapaksa presented the paper outlining the projects to the country's Cabinet, which was approved.
