( December 25, 2013 - Colombo - Sri Lanka Guardian) UNP National List Legislator and Economist Dr. Harsha De Silva has stated that he has no desire to contest as the Chief Minister candidate in the Western provincial council election.
He has made these comments in a discussion with the opposition leader and United National Party (UNP) leader Ranil Wickremesinghe held at the opposition leader's office located in Jawatta.
The head of National Youth Front Ruwan Wijewardane and MP Harin Fernando has also engaged in the discussion.
At the particular occasion UNP leader Ranil Wickremesinghe has requested MP Dr.Harsha de Silva to contest as the Chief Minister candidate and he has expressed his displeasure towards it.
At the end of the discussion UNP leader has stated that the decision to present Harsha de Silva as the CM candidate has still not changed.
It is also reported that Ranil Wickremesinghe has taken measures to direct Harsha de Silva's name to the leadership council in written, reports say
