( March 25, 2013, Chennai, Sri Lanka Guardian) Indeed it was a snug family party. No body could forget the party thrown by the Family Mrs.Sonia Gandhi to the Rajapaskshe Family! Victory celebrations of fourth Eelam war were going on jubilantly not alone in Colombo but also in New Delhi and it was a grand triumphal rejoicing of the allied forces having fought with a shared commitment and common determination. Victory celebration was an humiliation, an affront to the Tamils and they would not forget its sanguineness.
The Statue of Mahatma Gandhi which is within the precinct of Rashtrapathi Bhavan, New Delhi, if there were to be life in it would have spoken thus: ‘Mr.Mahinda Rajapakshe , you have had ordered decapitation of my statues in several places in Northern and Eastern parts of Sri Lanka and there were occasions when the entire statues of mine were pulled down from their pedestal. Now you have come to New Delhi as a guest after decimating the Eelam Tamils and do you know Mr.Mahinda Rajapakshe the Tamils were my loyal and valorous lieutenants in my fight against apartheid in South Africa? My association with them was unforgettable.’
Mrs.Soniya Gandhi holding a cup so carefully , Mr. Mahinda Rajapakshe who in his squealing and clucking laughter holding a cup a little away from his lips , Mr.Manmohan Singh’s face cold and expressionless who was about to sip from his cup, Mr.Douglas Devanandha who was wanted in three criminal cases in Tamil Nadu holding a glass and talking to Mr.Chidambaram who holding a cup himself had been standing beside Mr.Douglas Devanandha and taking to him, were on one side and Mrs.Mahinda Rajapaskhe Shrianthi, then President of India Mrs.Prathiba Patel and the Prime Minister’s wife were standing on the other side with champagne in their glasses. The champagne was red. No, it was colour of blood which they spilt.
Toasts were proposed for accomplishment of a stupendous task within the stipulated time and that was the agreement and prolongation of war would certainly impinge on and had repercussions on the election result and the Sri Lankan President who in response to the toast of honour given to him had replied by saying that with the liberal supply of Helicopter gunships, aircrafts, other heavy artilleries and military personnel who were to guide the conduct of war he was able to accomplish the mission so meticulously! Mr.Mahindha Rajapakshe would be saying that he had avenged the death of Prime Minster’s kins in the IPKF and that he had fulfilled the wish of Mrs.Soniya Gandhi in wiping out the Tamil Race.
It would be appropriate if we have stated of an anecdote in Mahavamsa, the Great Chronicle. It was about a queen whose name was Vihara Devi who was barren for sometime and the said lady used to feed the monks and give them gifts.
A prominent Monk was sermonising on the Truth. The queen had approached him and said to him that there was no issue born to her and that she had no interest in life and thereupon the said Monk who had foreseen the queen conceiving babe had directed her to see a saint who had snapped worldly ties and who was on his death bed.
The queen had offered flowers in profusion to the dying saint as a mark of respect but there was no response from him and then she had sent in a great deal of medicine and clothes to the Sanga and only then the dying saint began to speak his last wish which was he had to take birth in a royal family and saying thus the saint was dead.
The queen who while coming away had felt that she had conceived and thereafter she began to have strange feelings as befitting a pregnant woman as a result of which she had evinced some wish amongst which was the queen had to drink the water used in cleaning the blood from the sword which was used in decapitating the head of a Tamil soldier who was first in the rank among the Tamil king Ellara’s soldiers and she should stand on the severed head and drink the bloodied water and accordingly her wish were fulfilled and she had delivered a male babe which was named Gamini Abayan.
The mass graves were dug and the corpses of dead Tamils were dumped in them; the trenches which the Eelam people dug for shelter and safety was destined to become their graves and eye witness account reveal that the maimed, half dead and dying were thrown into them and bull dozed. Later these graves were opened and with special acid procured from Vietnam and China the skeletal remains were incinerated and the ashes were thrown into the sea with the help of the LTTE who were in custody of Defence Ministry. It is being said that was what really happened there.
Mrs.Sonia Gandhi who in order wreck vengeance against Eelam Tamils for the death of her husband had been privy to the Genocide perpetrated against them and that was why her daughter Mrs.Priyanka Gandhi standing true to her mother’s wish was saying that humans could not forgive.
After orchestrating and manoeuvring every move in the war she cannot pretend ignorance and therefore she is precluded from saying things like ‘she is voicing pain and anguish over denial of legitimate political rights, plight of Tamils in Sri Lanka is close to her heart and she is anguished by reports of unspeakable atrocities on innocent civilians and children, especially during the last days of the conflict in 2009. The Tamils are not prepared to hear her say so either.
It has taken her nearly four years to receive a report which would speak of ‘unspeakable atrocities on innocent civilians and children especially during the last days of the conflict in 2009’. If what she states be true then why appropriate clause condemning genocide has not been incorporated in the resolution and why His Excellency representing India has failed to take part in the discussion all along and why he should read out an insipid argument at the fag end praising Sri Lanka and reiterate the point Sri Lanka is a friendly Nation. The Eelam Tamils themselves do not say Sri Lanka is their foe and their argument is with the Rulers and not with their Sinhalese brethren. A friendly Nations is not expected to bombard its own people and kill them and when a friend commits a wrong it is bounden duty is to correct. A friend should not be allowed to incite and divide communities on the ground of Religion, encourage and keep the anti -Tamil feelings and hatred afloat in the minds of Sinhalese population for his self interest.
The Great Chronicle, MahaVamsa speaks also of certain righteous kings. The aforesaid Gamini Abayan had a brother. Their father had given them food and asked them to partake the food and advised them not to quarrel between themselves in the future and that they should not ever fight with the Tamils because Tamils were living away from Ganga. On hearing said so the king’s younger son had pushed away the food and the other son Gamini Abayan had kicked it and then he went to lie on the bed buckled up. The king and the Queen who seeing Gamini thus had asked him to stretch up his legs and hands freely and sleep comfortably. But Gamini Abayan had retorted by saying how he could sleep freely when the Tamils were residing away from Ganga on one side and Gotha ocean girding the other side.
In the statement of prime Minister Mr.Manmohan Singh, except the following words like disheartening to note, mourning, considering, looking at, taking pity, pondering over’ nothing substantial could be found and it is a repetition of statement of Mrs.Sonia Gandhi. Had they said anything more than certainly Mr.Mahindha Rajapakshe who openly say that he fought only India’s war would make complete disclosure. It is only the guilty consciousness which is haunting the prime minister and makes Mrs.Soniya Gandhi afraid of Mr.Mahindha Rajapakshe.
It is a pity that Prime Minister should know only from the BJP political leaders about the suffering of Eelam Tamils? If there is a person who has pledged his conscience with Mr.Mahinda Rajapakshe in the year 2004 it should only be the Prime Minster Mr.Manmohan Singh!
When Eelam Tamils were killed with Phosphorous bombs and cluster bombs Mr.Manmohan Singh was watching in all frigidity and icy silence. The Congress Government may try to hide it but it could not rebut the allegations.
When Mr.Mahinda Rajapakshe took office as the president of Sri Lanka in the year 2005 there was cease fire in operation between the parties. Mr.Mahinda Rajapakshe had started the offensive against the LTTE in blatant violation of the cease fire agreement and he wanted to kill everyone there and therefore Indian Government and the then Tamil Nadu government in office had been collaborative in his scheming designs. Mr.Mahinda Rajapakshe had met Indian Prime minister and sought military support which had been assented to. Then Mr. Mahinda Rajapakshe had tried to meet then Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu who had turned down his request which was indeed a disappointment.
Mr.Mahindha Rajapakshe then sent his brothers the Defence Secretary Mr.Gothabaya Rajapakshe and Mr.Basil Rajapakshe to meet the high ranking Army, Navy and Air force officers. No sooner Mr.Vaiko who was member of the coalition came to know of the proposal that the Government was entering into a defence agreement then he met Mr.Manmohan Singh who said that there was no such a proposal.
In the days that followed the External Affairs Minister Mr.Natwar Singh had made a visit to Sri Lanka and at a press briefing he had stated that the Defence cooperation agreement was being given a final touch and that necessary works were being done in that regard.
Knowing pretty well that the Central Government could not withstand the opposition from Tamils in Tamil Nadu it had been said of defence agreement as though it was one meant for the development and well being of Sri Lanka. The External Affairs Minster Mr.Natwar Singh avowedly made a statement in Colombo that although the agreement as such was not directly defence in nature the same was being implemented in a other way round.
Only after the announcement made by the Deputy Commander of Sri Lankan Air Force, Mr.Dominic Penra in Dec 2005 that with the fund given by Indian Government the Pallali Airport and the run way were being renovated for the past 6 months, the treacherous activities of Central Government came to light.
What were done in utter secrecy by India had been continued to be exposed by the Sri Lankan Government in Colombo. The Sri Lankan Government had revealed about the supply of radars, helicopter gunships and etc. When India had started supplying one weapon after another the killings of EelamTamils had been intensified after 2006.
The Fourth phase of war had actually been begun by Sri Lankan forces by bombarding Sencholai children home and in the said attack 61 children came to be killed. At this juncture, an announcement was jubilantly made to the effect that there was a meeting going on amongst high raking Indian and Sri Lankan Navy on board the Sri Lankan war ship.
Another news had began to leak from Colombo that to oversee and conduct the war Mr.Basil Rajapakshe, Mr.Gothapaya Rajapakshe and Mr.Lalith Weerathunga were appointed on the Sri Lankan side and Mr.Sivasanaka Menan, Mr.M.K.Narayanan and Mr.Vijai Singh who were averse to the interest of Tamils came to be appointed on the Indian side and press statement made by Sri Lankan side had admitted in unequivocal terms that it had been discussed in the meeting all aspects pertaining military stratagem and offensive against LTTE. No sooner such a news began to leak then the LTTE had started to make all arrangements for their defensive .
When the Indian Military Engineers Mr. A.K.Thakkur, Mr.Chinnthamani Rout had been grievously wounded in an attack launched by the LTTE on military base in Vanni it became as clear as day light of the Congress Government’s involvement and collaboration in the war.
The Prime Minister Mr.Manmohan Singh was maintaining his stand that the Indian Government was not helping the Sri Lankan Government in the war against LTTE. Nevertheless, for the first time Prime Minster Mr.Manmohan Singh wrote to say in a letter to Mr.Vaiko that in order to safeguard the integrity of Sri Lanka he had been constrained to extend such military assistance to Sri Lanka.
If we did not help Sri Lanka in providing Military assistance then Pakistan and China would come forward to assist Sri Lanka in the war and that was the stand of the Indian Government all along. Any how some body was going to killing the Eelam Tamils and getting the money for doing so and why not India do it? The learned economist and the Prime Minister Mr.Manmohan Singh may kindly answer as to what was the difference between a mercenary and India Government so for the justification was concerned?
Whether the Indian Prime Minister Mr.Manmohan Singh did not know that under the garb of fighting the war against terrorism both the Sri Lankan Government and Indian Government were committing genocide against the innocent Eelam Tamils. Mr.Sarath Fonseka was accusing India by alleging that India was against cessation of offensive against Eelam Tamils and such statement of his was not denied at all.
Sri Lankan Army had vociferously and gleefully said that the Helicopter Gunships were very usual in waging the war. The war correspondent Nithin Gokahle had been to Sri Lanka after math the war and had met high ranking military officers and others in connection with a book which he was writing. He made a shocking revelation that it was the Indian Government which had directed the Sri Lankan Government to finish the war before summer 2009 as Lok Sabha elections was proposed to be held and he continued to say that the above said information was revealed by the Sri Lankan military.
The Indian Prime Minister now has began to pretend ignorance of what had happened in Sri Lanka. Mr.Manmohan Singh who after supplying arms, weapons, army personnel clandestinely to fight the war with a corrupt intention of committing genocide against Eelam Tamils on the pretext of Pakistan and China would come to help Sri Lanka militarily cannot be heard to say anything by way of justification. He knew that when the news regarding collaboration with Sri Lankan Government in waging the war Eelam Tamils became known then there would not be any possibility of winning the election in 2009 and that was why he had wanted to finish off the war before summer 2009.
The Honourable External Minister Mr.Salmon Krushid would think himself clever and his claim is India would not interfere in the internal affairs of another country and India would not like to act as a middleman in the internal affairs of another country.
It was the mother- in- law of Mrs.Soniya Gandhi who had brought all the miltitant groups which were fighting for separate home land to Dera Doon and imparted military training. Late Rajiv Gandhi had meddled in the affairs of Sri Lanka and sat beside Jayavardane in bringing about the controversial agreement. Now these people do not see that it is puerile niggling on their part.
After all, both Mr.Manmohan Singh and Mr.Salman Krushid need not worry about the Eelam Tamils because they held arms in their hands! What they say of the 574 fishermen who were killed by Sri Lankan Navy so for. What steps they are going to take ensuring the safety of fishermen? If Indian Prime Minister Mr.Manmohan Singh refuses to see that Ramaeswaram and Tuticorin are part of India and goes on seeing Tamil Fishermen being killed then he should be heartless!
