The Second conspiracy theory
( March 31, 2013, London, Sri Lanka Guardian) We should expose some aspects of the political incorrectness and blunders of Rajapake dynasty to understand the fear and phobia of this ruling family. With the victory over LTTE this regime lost its balanced thinking and neutrality. Initially this regime feared the force of Sarath Fonseka and then he was made to shut up and was locked up in Welikade prison. Then this dynasty swiftly began to marginalise Bandaranayke family. The former President Chandrika Bandaranayke was totally marginalised in Srilanka. She was not treated as one of former presidents of Srilanka and official privilege of former president has been taken away from her. Even late President Wejathunga had his official privilege despite the fact he was a president only for a few moths. The former president Chandrika Bandaranayke completed her two full terms and yet, she was not treated well by this government.
This is indeed a dirty politics in very sense. Then comes fall out with chief justice of Srilanka. Now people have begun to know the political blunders of this regime and sooner or later they will have to meet the consequences of this political fallacy. Under these hard economic and political circumstances Rajapakse family follows the policy of divide and rule. Or uses racial card to play with politics in expectation that they could turn the majority of Singhalese people towards them that is why they use BBS in this way to get support of Singhalese. This is one of crafty stratagem of this regime. It becomes clear to them that they can not win any more elections with votes of minority communities at all.
So to play with racial card is one of the options they had on the table. For this purpose, these extremist monks have been used to accomplish their goals and unfortunately these monks do not understand these political tricks and they have been trapped by these politicians for their benefits. Otherwise, how on earth target innocent people of Muslim and Christian religion and they have started with Muslim and yet next target will be Christians people. Indeed, they should have started with Christians who are recently converted from Buddhism during the colonial periods. Most of them changed their religions for employments and education.
According to some political analysts the popularity of this government has gone down dramatically and they will not get much support from North and East Tamil population at all. A large majority of professionals are not happy with the performance of this government. Academics, lawyers, judges and other professionals are not happy with government and a large numbers of army and police personals are not happy with these governments and there are frequent transfers of these officials from one place to another with political influences. All most all departments and institutes are under direct political hegemony of this dynasty and people are frustrated with this government as prices of food items are sky rocketing every day. People are struggling to survive with financial hardship and difficulties. The dawn fall of this regime is unavoidable. It is true that LTTE was defeated with the determination and courage of Rajapakse family and yet, people are not ready to live under any form of dictatorship.
There will be parliamentary and presidential elections soon in 2015 and this government will meet its doom day soon in these two elections. For that reasons this government needs some alternative methods to win the election. This may be one of the crafty methods to get the votes from Singhalese population otherwise, why this president and his ministers keep silence at the racial activities of BBS. Since Dambulla mosques attacks until now more than 50 incidents have been reported against Muslims and Islamic sacred place. These happened in the front of the Police and security forces and no legal actions have been taken so far and why is that? Is it because, these attacks are orchestrated by government itself from behind the scenes. Or is it because this president is a Buddhist fundamentalist? Is it because that he is using religion for political purpose? These questions have been puzzling Muslim communities? Why after all these hate speeches and open hatred activities this government does not take any actions against these Buddhist fundamentalism. Why is this double standard in application of rule of law in this country?
These all recent events in Srilanka raise some fundamental questions about the quality of Muslim political leadership in Srilanka? Muslim politicians should represent Muslim community in the parliament and they are elected by Muslim people to look after their communal interest along side national interest. Yet, it is appalling to see complacency of some of these Muslim politicians at these difficult times. Some of them do not have courage and determination to speak for Muslim community at this crucial times and some of them do not know what was going on to his community and even they do not have any clue about what is going on? In this time of hardship and mayhem only a few Muslim politicians spoke with courage and self respect.

Yet, it is appalling to see complacency of some of these Muslim politicians at these difficult times. In this time of hardship and mayhem only a few Muslim politicians spoke with courage and self respect.
It is pity that some of these politicians do not have thorough knowledge in Islam to speak about Islamic issues and some of them do not have rational and logical argumentative aptitudes to confront these challenges. I think that it is high time now that Muslim community to send these politicians home. They do not deserve to be Muslim reprehensive in parliament and have no concern about Muslim problems and Muslim issues. They all should come out of this government and resign or demand government to take action against BBS. Some argue that this government will never take action against BBS because it is an internal agency of this government. Mouths of Muslim MPS have been gagged on this issue by this government. It appears that this government uses institutional bullying tactics on Muslim community to day on these issues so that it could create panic, fear and phobia in the minds of Muslim people.
I should say that only a few members of Muslim politicians seriously encountered BBS’s ruthless attacks on Muslim community. Assath Sally, Kabir Harshim, Imthaiyaz Bakir, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, and Abdul Sathar are only few Muslim MPs who seriously concerned about this problem. All others are worried about their political careers and potions in this government. Assath Sally and Mujeeb ur Rahman presented their arguments with clarity of thought with logical and rational evidence. They have indeed done a great job in this respect. They came forward for the community in time of danger and difficulties. They are indeed true Muslim political leaders in Srilanka today and Muslim community should appreciate their courage and skills. They have talent and political shrewdness to guide Muslim community in right directions.
We all know limitations of Muslim parliamentarians in Srilanka and yet they can not justify their silence on this burning issue and Muslims should teach them good lessons for their incapability and inactiveness. They have manifested open complacency on this issues and it also tells us that some of these Muslim MPs do not have any qualifications to represent Muslims in parliaments and Muslim community should know how to elect their representatives in parliament and I hope that Muslims learn some lessons from this pathetic situation.
So far Muslim MPs have not taken any concrete steps on this issue. Muslims have been accused of many things yet, MPs have been maintaining silence and Muslim clerics have been accused of many things but yet, Muslim MPs do not open their mouths about these false fabrication and allegations. Why do they maintain such silence? It is left for a Tamil MP to speak in Parliament on behalf of a Muslim lady who left her job at a post- office. She left her jobs because of constant intimidation from Singhalese thugs in Mannampitiya for wearing Abaya. When fundamental rights of a Muslim lady are violated why Muslim MPs kept quit in Parliament. When innocent Muslim community is bullied and intimidated by BBS with all false accusations and allegations why do Muslim MPs keep silence?
Collectively they should have debated this issue in parliament and they should have demanded explanations from government or they should have acted collectively on this issue or they should have withdrawn their support to this dummy government or they should have resign collectively from this government and this could be done with support of many Tamil and Singhalese MPs and they should have made an alliance with opposition parties to counter these challenges. This is a local problem and we need to find some local solution in discussion with our Singhalese brothers. Yet, Muslims politicians have failed to produce any constructive mechanism to counter these threats even to challenges these monks. We do not take these local issues with international communities or organizations we all know well that these problems could be solved through dialogues.
It is incapability and inability of our politicians should be highlighted and they should share the blame for all social mayhem. They have failed to discuss these challenges with government from the every beginning when Dambulla mosques incident happened. It is pathetic some of them even do not have skills and talents to speak for our communities still stay in power shamelessly. Time has come to identify true Muslim leaders from bogus leaders. I think that Muslim community will learn many lessons out these social mayhems.
To be continued next week.
