Earlier on the Parliamentary Council approved the appointment of Palitha Fernando as the new Attorney General.
The Former Attorney General Eva Wanasundara was sworn in as a justice of the Supreme Court at Temple Trees on July 5 which gave way for the appointment of Palitha Fernando, who was previously the Solicitor General, as the new Attorney General.
