( May 23, 2012, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) During the 3rd year victory commemoration of ending the ethnic conflict the President Mahinda Rajapakse told the people of this country that he made the LLRC report to reintegrate the Tamil and the Singhalese community to bring the communal harmony between the two ethnicities.
Further the president said that there are only certain recommendations in the LLRC report which the government can comply and agree to implement and some of them are already under implementation, which implies some of them are not complied and agreed.
I wish to ask a simple question the LLRC was created by president Rajapakse, The draft was approved by president and made publish and presented to the parliament and made public. It means the president complied and agreed for all the recommendations therein to be implemented so that it was formally approved and publish. In that circumstance why the president is reluctant to implement all the recommendations he has already read and agreed upon.
He also said that he will not allow the LLRC to create a division between the two communities.
It appears President Mahinda Rajapakse do not understand the simple reasoning how the LLRC made by him approved by him and the parliament which was made to reintegrate the communities can divide the two communities?
The bottom line is simply implement; all the recommendations in the LLRC which will help both communities to reintegrate and live in harmony.
“I will not create the LLRC to make a division between the Tamil and Singhalese community.”
So why did the President created the LLRC ?
Bloody hell, can anybody understand this ?
