( January 23, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) Former Army Commander Sarath Fonseka who has been accused of a conspiracy to overthrow the government today pleaded not guilty when the charges were read out to him in the Colombo High Court today.
His secretry Senaka Silva who is also charged in the case also pleaded not guilty.
The case is beign taken up by Colombo High Court judge Sunil Rajapaksa.
Mr Fonseka is accused of trying to overthrow the government with the help of 10 other soliders.
The case was filed after a group of soldiers and army deserter were arrested from the Colombo five star hotel immediately after the 2010 Presidential elections.
