(November 16, Sydney, Sri Lanka Guardian) Department of Immigration & Emigration in Australia has informed the Sri Lanka High Commission in Canberra that a 26 years old Sri Lankan youth known as Dayaratna Jayasekara had committed suicide in Villawood Immigration Detention Centre, Sydney, Australia on 26th of October, 2011. The photograph shows the above person.
He had arrived in Australia as an illegal immigrant and then he had been seeking refugee visa claiming to be a Tamil person. Details of the above person are not available and nobody has come forward to identify his body so far.
Consular Division of the Ministry of External Affairs seeks public assistance to identify the next of kin of late Dayaratna Jayasekara.
