(September 11, Jaffna, Sri Lanka Guardian) Douglas Devananda, Minister of Traditional Industries and Small Enterprise Development paid a visit on the east 05th to those who had been hospitalized and released on bail consequent to the chaotic situation that erupted in Navanturai area.
The Minister having met these people at “(Paraloka Matha)” Church in Navanthurai, said that he was extremely worried of the unfortunate incident that cropped up in the area and would look into the circumstances which led to this chaos and provide the victims with whatever the relief that were needed to be given to them.
He also said every one should think deep and wide to protect whatever the things that one possesses and rebuild what have been destroyed, and march towards prosperity with determination and courage. “Anti government forces are engaged in concerted efforts to mislead the people by creating an unrest in the country for realizing their sinister moves, therefore, it’s the responsibility of the people not to get carried away by these false rumours” added the Minister. He also assured them that he would soon resort to necessary steps for creation of a peaceful environment. At a request made by those gathered, he promised them that he would visit the area in the nights by bicycle.
On this day, in the night, the Minister, visited all the affected areas in Jaffna on a bicycle where “Grease Devil was said to be frequenting, to rid off the fear and terror that had crept into the minds of the people.
