(June 22, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) National list MP A.H.M.Azwer is to correct his statement he made in Parliament that former LTTE chief Velupillai Prabhakaran’s wife and chidren are being looked after President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
Mr. Azwer told the Media based in Colombo, that he actually meant to say that the government was looking after the family of former JVP leader Rohana Wijeweera and had made a mistake by saying Prabhakaran's family was alive.
“I will be making a statement in Parliament today to clarify my statement. In the rush I had made a mistake”, he said.
Prabhakaran’s wife and children were believed to have been killed during the military operations in the north east two years back.
