(May 14, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) The Cabinet of Ministers earlier this week approved the implementation of a water supply and sanitation project for Jaffna Peninsula and Kilinochchi District, expected to benefit around 300,000 people living in the North.
The project will be implemented with financial assistance from ADB, AFD and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD). The total cost of this project amounts to US$ 164 million of which the donor component will be US $138 million. The project is to be completed in 2017, the government announced.
