Honourable Robert Blake,

Legal Status of the Transnational Government of Tamil Eelam(TGTE) in the USA

Your are no doubt aware of an organization calling itself the Transnational Government of Tamil Eelam comprised of a segment of the expatriate Sri Lankan Tamil community residing in the USA, Canada and other western countries who are yet pursuing the break up of the sovereign independant nation state of Sri Lanka, to create a mono-ethnic racist Tamil only state on territory extending to one-third of the land area and two-thirds of the coastal belt of the island state of Sri Lanka. The TGTE is a government which only exists in the imagination of its architects without one square inch of land under its control. This same group previously provided funding, and other services deemed illegal to the outlawed terrorist group known as the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) which has been banned in the USA since 1996 to seek the same goal by force of arms, which insurgency was militarily defeated by the Sri Lankan authorities in 2009 after enduring much bloodshed and violence over a period of 33 years..

I am annexing a copy of an Identity Card issued by this Transnational Government of Sri Lanka to a female named Parameswary Shanmugasundaram apparently residing in the USA based on the identity card number prefixed by the letters USA and bearing numbers 000 002 1619A. What is most intriguing is that an unrecognized body such as the TGTE which is said to have been elected by expatriate Tamils domiciled in the USA, Canada and other western countries, aspiring or dreaming to establish a break-away state called Tamil Eelam, without even the consent of a single Tamil inhabiting the land area denoted on the map of Sri Lanka shown on the identity card, could arrogate to themselves the authority to issue an identity card to an individual who is either a citizen or permanent resident of the USA requiring to pledge an Oath of Loyalty to the United States of America.

It would be greatly appreciated if you could ascertain the legal status of this nebulous body known as the Transnational Government of Tamil Eelam (TGTE), and the legality or otherwise of its authority to issue National Identity Cards to permanent residents of the USA. I would also like to know what action would be taken against this organization, which I believe is violating the laws of the USA and attempting to undermine the authority bestowed by the American people in the duly elected government of your great country.

Yours sincerely,

Mahinda Gunasekera
