(March 02, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) Opposition Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe has called the President to disclose what he has described as ‘difficult decisions’ to be taken by government.
Mr. Wickremesinghe addressing an election campaign rally in Puttalam town on Tuesday said that the President during his independence day speech said that the government would have to take ‘difficult decisions’, but he has so far not disclosed what these decisions were.
“Is he planning to increase the prices of consumer goods or increase VAT. Whatever the decision the public should be kept informed”, he said.
He said that the ‘difficult decisions’ may be due to having the burden of maintaining over 100 ministers and incurring unnecessary expenditure such as, for government propaganda events.
