(March 25, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) President Mahinda Rajapaksa today said the government was not too worried about reports of the advisory panel named by UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon as it was an internal matter.
“We do not have to be concerned about the panel, unless they release a public report”, the President told a meeting with editors of local newspapers, radio and TV stations.
“For instance if I appoint an advisory panel to advise me it does not affect the country”, the President said.
He said that it was at times difficult to fight the campaigns carried out by the Tamil Diaspora as they team up to carry out such campaigns and the embassies have limited staff.
“Unfortunately some of the former media persons from Sri Lanka living overseas as well as the opposition also carry out such campaigns against the country”, he said.
