(March 18, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) The ruling United People’s’ Freedom Alliance recorded a victory at the local government elections securing 205 out of 234 local government bodies.
Ilankai Tamil Arushu Kachchi won 12 bodies while United National Party won 9, Sri Lanka Muslims Congress 4, National Congress 2 and one each for the UCPF and Independent Group 1.
