Who is unscrupulous?

(February 06, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) Speaking to a sixteen-member clandestine Tamil diaspora delegation from Germany, Australia, USA, Canada and the UK last week, the Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa had said that expatriate Tamils living abroad should look way forward in the reconstructing and development process in the country, instead of being misled by unscrupulous elements which are trying to destabilise the peaceful atmosphere in the country.

The news carried by the Sunday Observer of Sri Lanka datelined 6 February 2011 confirmed the sixteen members have met the Defence Secretary on the invitation of the controversial government propped up Tamil group NERDO of the LTTE arms smuggler KP currently enjoying the luxuries of the government.

The government’s unscrupulousness is such that it is involved in its manipulative mission to further marginalise the Tamils. NERDO has become the latest succour for it to weaken the elected TNA. Talking to the TNA and pulling the rug under it using the NERDO is all known game of the government. There are parasites like KP’s and unscrupulous and cunning few in the community who will keep the government oxygenated all the time to extend the government’s dishonest conduct towards its national minority.

Without naming the members of the clandestine group that met the Defence Secretary and the Foreign Secretary, the news filed by Ananth Palakidnar titled ‘Defence Secretary Tells Tamil Diaspora: Don’t be misled by unscrupulous elements’ reflected only the view points of the government. There is no reference to any demands or representations by this clandestine group. If this group had not raised an iota of an issue, it only confirms the opportunism of the gutless few to dance to tune of the treacherous government.

Without touching on the fundamental issue of serious political resolution to the conflict and issues involved in the Defence Secretary’s contribution towards war crimes, he using the hand picked opportunists in the Tamil community to tell the Diaspora Tamils is unscrupulous - a dastardly and condemnable attitude indeed.

The Diaspora Tamils are the victims of the age old anti-Tamil agenda of the successive governments and they are not in the mood to participate in the deceptive development agenda of the crooked government that is presiding over the deaths and destruction of its own citizens. The development agenda of the government is a rooster of the corrupt military state of Sri Lanka to plunder the financial resources of the Diaspora Tamils without establishing meaningful social-political circumstances for such development process.

Controlling every five Tamils with an armed soldier and allowing rapes, murders and all kinds of human rights violations and extensively practicing state backed colonisations, the disingenuous Defence Secretary have the audacity to call the Diaspora Tamils unscrupulous.

The unscrupulousness of the Defence Secretary and his establishment is stinking to the roots that his predicament is laughable like the emperor wearing new suit and a child crying: ‘he isn't wearing anything at all!’

Before pontificating his criminal mission to massage the Tamils I, a sincere and honest citizen of Sri Lanka living in desperation in the Diaspora ask the Defense Secretary to visit the non-LTTE Tamil Diaspora in the UK and understand first hand the issues affecting the Tamils without clobbering his petty minded rabid agenda to trivialize the Diaspora as unscrupulous Tamils with the help of the hand picked scoundrels in the Diaspora community that he met recently.

Even if the hardcore Tamils file actions against the Defence Secretary in the British courts, will he have the guts to face the British Courts to justify his murderous conduct after having exercised his guts to bulldoze the civilian population and the war surrenders ruthlessly in Vanni?.
