(February 04, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) President Rajapaksa today assured that the government would take measures to provide relief to all flood victims.
He was addressing the 63rd independence anniversary celebrations in Kataragama.
He said that although the government could not do much on the climatic changes which has led to floods in certain parts of the country, the government will provide relief to the victims.
He said protecting independence is more difficult than gaining it.
President called on the people to rally round to achieve economic development.
He said that the last five year period is the most productive period after independence.
