"Who discovered electricity, a school boy who left the school at 14 yrs old then worked as an errand boy to a book binder? When a little boy was sitting under an apply tree during the school holiday discovered the gravitational force when an apple fell on his head. A gentleman from England, George Stephen discovered the steam railway in 1830, even in Sri Lanka it was in use until quite recently."

(December 20, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) My main aim is to show the general public how to save money that is spent on gas. Every single month the price of gas goes up and the suppliers give plenty of excuses for the price increase and even the governments cannot do anything about the price hikes. Even in the UK the gas prices are going up.
I have written a few articles about this subject and a few web sites have published my letters for the last few years. I even challenged anyone to come forward to disprove my work then placed Rs 100,000 on the table, but no one took the challenge. I was given an opportunity to appear in a TV live chat show in 2008 on the subject of energy saving. Then in April 2009, I cooked and demonstrated to the TV and explained how to save energy. Apart from that again I had a live chat show with clips from the actual cooking. The show lasted for half an hour and during that time, I answered plenty of questions all related to energy saving. My challenge is still open but no one cared to come forward. I was wondering why? Millions of people must have seen the program, hopefully some energy saving authorities as well. I got plenty of emails congratulating me for the effort but didn’t go any further than that.
When Archimedes found the truth of law of flotation by sitting fully naked inside a bath tub, what did he do? I am sure any GCSE student would know, he rang fully naked all the way to the palace. When Mendeleev found a very strong relationship between the eight notes of the musical note and the eight element in the periodic table of elements, how did the rest of the scientist reacted? Everyone called him, “Mad” and ridiculed but much later on someone found that he was perfectly correct. Then the government at that time honoured him by naming the periodic table after him, am sure he was showered with money and other gifts as well. When a gentleman called Haber discovered how to make ammonia, a commercial company came to see it and found it really works then they he was offered a sum of money may be about €100,000 sterling pounds in 1938 to get the secret. In 1938 this kind of money may be more than 500 times today’s value that is lot of money. Not only had that, he was awarded a Nobel Prize as well. What happened to Galileo? He was imprisoned for telling the truth but he was perfectly right. Now to remember and honour him, many space exploration satellites are named after him for his discovery. I can give many examples from the history of science. Many scientists’ discoveries were denied by the authorities but I cannot understand why? As the famous quotation, “Do you want more”?
Who discovered electricity, a school boy who left the school at 14 yrs old then worked as an errand boy to a book binder? When a little boy was sitting under an apply tree during the school holiday discovered the gravitational force when an apple fell on his head. A gentleman from England, George Stephen discovered the steam railway in 1830, even in Sri Lanka it was in use until quite recently.
Faraday, the founder of electricity combined chemistry and electricity in his research work. He studied electrolysis, which is the chemical breakup of certain substances by passing an electric current through them. Faraday’s work on electricity led him to discover the laws governing electrochemistry.
I have combined my knowledge of synthetic organic chemistry with other laws of physics and biology to come out with a solution to the wastage of gas during cooking. Since then I call it energy saving scientific cooking. Sometimes I was wondering to call it green cooking because it saves energy!
Some of these discovers didn’t have much educational paper qualifications but their imagination and visualization and application of knowledge from one to the other made them to discoveries. One thing these discoverers found their own ways to get the attention of respective authorities.
“Why do the babies cry”?
One simple question before I go any further, “Why do the babies cry”? I am sure it is to get the attention of the parents who are the authorities of the babies.
“Energy saving ideologist runs nude?"
I was wondering what I would do to get the attention of these authorities. Have I got to do the same as what Archimedes did or how about riding a white horse like Lady Godiva did with a long wig? Unlike in the past in the period of new technology, fast media publicity, web sites, email marketing and many more ways to let the public know your news, let me find my own way!
I wrote a number of articles that were published in many web sites where I put a small challenge as well. Then after a while, I have increased my challenge from Rs 100,000 to Rs 250,000 for anyone to come forward to disprove my scientific technique of energy saving. Do you want it, “Higher and higher”?
Now the challenge is Rs 500,000.
Since I discussed this subject three times on live in a prominent TV channel in Sri Lanka, just a matter of few weeks ago, I am more confident about my scientific technique hence I am happy to increase my challenge from, Rs 100,000 to Rs 250,000 to Rs 500,000, yes half a million of rupees or equivalent amount in sterling pounds. I am again inviting any scientist or any authority to take up my challenge, if I am wrong, I am prepared to pay this challenge money but if I am right, I hope I get a reward and recognition. In a way, if the authorities think I have wasted their time then to compensate it I am prepared to pay this amount of money, nothing else.
“Every action has an equal and opposite reaction”
Again why not any energy saving authority or some one in similar categories listen to me and see what am I talking about? After all if it works it benefits everyone, save gas, electricity, cuts down the waiting time in the kitchen, it cuts down some environmental pollution as well. Just one little thing, I work my theories according to science then accordingly, “every action has an equal and opposite reaction” so if I was right what would be my reward or the recognition?
No time to cook?
I think as Asians we must know how to cook rice other than using a rice cooker. I can use this technique to cook many things but let me show first at least one or two things. If they are convinced then I can show how it applies to other things. In the present rat race time, some ladies say, “no time to cook.” Ladies, are these excuses to gobble more fast food? Then wash it down with liters of fizzy drinks? Do you think this is a healthy combination or a healthy diet?
