No Confirmation of Minister Dilan’s statement on Rizana Nafeek

(December 08, Riyadh, Sri Lanka Guardian) The Sri Lanka Guardian yesterday published a news item on a statement made by Mr. Dilan Perera, Minister of the Foreign Empowerments, relating to suspention of death sentence on Rizana Nafeek.
We have made inquiries from Saudi sources for confirmation of Ministers statement. We regret to state that there is no confirmation to support his statement. Situation of Rizana Nafeek remains the same as before. Her file is now before the King of Saudi Arabia, who you has the power to pardon or to reconfirm the death sentence. In the event of the King deciding the latter, death sentence will be carried out immediately.
