Fifty nine member cabinet sworn in, 18 new members

(November 22, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) The new cabient of the President Mahinda Rajapaksa government was sworn in with 59 ministers including 10 senior ministers and 18 new ministers.

Prime Minister D.M.Jayaratne was reappointed to the post in addition to being a senior minister in charge of Buddha Sasana

The other senior ministers are Ratnasiri Wickremanayake , A.H.M. Fowzie, Athauda Seneviratne, D.E.W.Gunasekara, Prof Tissa Vitharana, Dr. Sarath Amunugama, S.B.Nawinna,, P.Dayaratna and Piyasena Gamage.

Among the new cabinet members are : Rauf Hakeem, Vasudeva Nanayakkara, Lakshman Seneviratne, Mahindananda Aluthgamage, Navin Dissanayake, Reginold Cooray, T.B.Ekanayake, Jagath Pushpakumara, S.M.Chandrasena, Mervyn Silva, Jagath Balasuriya, Salinda Dissanayaka, Dilan Perera, Chandrasiri Gajadeera, Mahinda Amaraweera, Gunaratne Weerakoon, Dayasritha Tissera, Ranjith Siyambalapitiya.

Former Minister Milroy Fernando has been dropped from the cabinet.
