(October 28, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) The ‘Journey to Peace’, a solo painting exhibition by Kanak Champa Chatma, an internationally acclaimed artist from Bangladesh, was held at the National Art Gallery today (28/10/2010).
The exhibition was organized by the Sri Lanka Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Dhaka, Bangladesh, with the collaboration of the Sri Lankan High Commission in Bangladesh and the High Commission of Bangladesh in Sri Lanka as part of an initiative to promote cultural ties and strengthen bonds between the two countries. The Prime Minister of Sri Lanka, D.M. Jayaratne inaugurated the exhibition in the presence of the High Commissioner for Sri Lanka to Bangladesh Mr. Sarath Kumara Weragoda and the High Commissioner for Bangladesh to Sri Lanka, Mr. Mahbub Uz Zaman.
