While the Government says that funds collected by K.P’s Organization will be used for Rehabilitation, It raises a big question and doubt whether these funds will be used to rehabilitate the poor refugees released from the clutches of Terrorist or Rehabilitate the surrendered LTTE Terrorist?"

(September 29, Toronto, Sri Lanka Guardian) Soon after the victory over Terrorism, The Government of Srilanka announced that it would take every possible step to curb the International Network of LTTE. This was repeatedly said by almost by all the high ranking ministers in the cabinet of the Srilanka Freedom Party (SLFP) Government lead by the President Mahinda Rajapakse. Notably the all-powerful figure in the Srilankan Government the Defense Secretary Gotabaya Rajapakse. It was seen as a strong determination of the Government to destabilize the powerful and well organized Network of the world renowned Terrorist organization the LTTE.

As the Terrorist were defeated and the entire leadership of the LTTE been eliminated,

A portion of Tamils abroad who were supporting the LTTE, were also in favor of this move due to the destruction brought by the separatist war and to the pathetic conditions of the refugees. Overall situation in the Tamil Diaspora was in favor of the Government of Srilanka due to the lessons learnt by hard way by the Tamil community and the atrocities committed by the LTTE that came out through the mouth of its own Tamil civilians liberated by war. Most of the Tamils living abroad were living in a dream that Eelam is possible only by the mightiness of LTTE were shocked also humiliated by defeat of the Terrorist outfit. As their greatest dream been shattered, Tamils were fed up and most of them were supportive of this initiative. Instead of using the situation in hand to destroy the support base of LTTE in the Diaspora, very much knowing the mood and pulse of the Tamil Diaspora was not in favor of the defeated LTTE, The Government of Srilanka took a shocking decision of Promoting Kumaran Pathmanaban alias K.P, the real culprit who was the key person running this war for all these years by supplying arms and ammunition and raised funds for all the LTTE operations.

The second biggest shock came from the Srilankan Government allowing K.P to carry out Rehabilitation activities in the refugee camps. Later it was revealed that K.P has access to rehabilitation camps of the LTTE cadres. It’s very well established to the outside world now, those LTTE cadres who are rehabilitated are now under the control of its own LTTE Leader himself. It’s been evident now, that the LTTE cadres enjoy the best facilities than the poor civilians in the refugee camps and the Government is very much interested in not just rehabilitating the LTTE cadres but to bring them under the control of K.P the mastermind of LTTE. The video clipping issued by K.P gang shows that the LTTE cadres are very happily talking to him. It seems they enjoy the company of K.P and his criminal gang. (Are the birds of same feather flocking together?)

While telling the people of Srilanka and to the world, that Government is taking every possible step to curb the International Network of LTTE, The Government of Srilanka did right the opposite by inviting K.P’s International Criminal Gang to Srilanka giving them a red carpet welcome. It gave access to all the rehabilitation camps and notably to sensitive areas such as access to rehabilitation centers of LTTE cadres. Visiting these centers were even prohibited to their own parents, and elected Members of Parliament. But special privilege was given to K.P’s International criminal gang, which includes two delegates from Canada and rest of the world. Is the Government of Srilanka trying to curb and destroy LTTE’s International Network? OR Helping the LTTE to regroup and reorganize its Terrorist Network? The motive behind this act is yet to be seen but the consequences for Srilanka will be beyond compare.

Whether there is a monitoring for the funds brought into the country and how and for whom it will be used? LTTE might use this opportunity to bring their funds legally into Srilanka by the help of our authorities itself, which will enable them to rehabilitate their own cadres. Will not this flow of funds strengthen LTTE cadres and their network in Srilanka? Is the Government of Srilanka trying to crush LTTE’s International Network or Helping LTTE to reorganize and regroup? LTTE will also use this Organization abroad to collect funds legally showing the outside world that it has been legally allowed by the Government of Srilanka itself to raise funds. Will this not allow the Terrorist Organization once again to raise funds and regain control in the Tamil Diaspora? What is actually our Government intension is? Is that to allow LTTE who have lost their support in the Diaspora to regain their support and strengthen them physically and monetarily?

The Government states that K.P will rehabilitate the surrendered LTTE cadres and his rehabilitation organization will bring funds from abroad for its rehabilitation work. As of now according to the Government static’s there were thousands of men, women, boys and girls (Child soldiers) were been released from government rehabilitation centers. There is no mechanism exists so far we know that this rehabilitated LTTE cadres or former Terrorist are still under Government monitoring mechanism. If these cadres come under criminal like K.P how they will be monitored? Will the Government agencies have access to these Ex.LTTE cadres? If these rehabilitated LTTE cadres are monetarily supported by K.P, automatically they become under the direct control and influence of K.P. Is this not showing the revitalizing the LTTE again? What guarantee that GOSL has that these cadres will not be used for anti national activities or Terrorist activities in future? Will this act not strengthen the LTTE Diasporas again to reorganize them? Will it not be a morale boost to LTTE?

In many countries throughout the world, LTTE is been banned and its front organizations such as World Tamil Movement (WTM), Tamil Rehabilitation Organization (TRO) were also been banned and black listed. Due to this ban, LTTE’s Network has been crippled and their monetary power has been significantly reduced. Since their bank accounts and immovable assets are all frizzed, LTTE faces a lot more difficult to operate it overseas accounts and transactions. No doubt criminals like K.P might have hundreds of bogus accounts, but still they are under surveillance. But K.P Rehabilitation Organization made legal by Srilankan Authorities will give a legal reorganization throughout the world and will escape monitoring, which will make LTTE collections legal throughout the world.

Is this what the Government of Srilanka want? Making LTTE funds legal? But a country that was destroyed by Terrorism and experienced the horrors of the LTTE, whom claimed victory over Terrorism and eliminating them, supposed to destroy its International Network, has allowed them to regroup. Even gone to the extent of starting a Rehabilitation Organization to raise funds for it Terrorist activities again and that too by a criminal who belongs to the same LTTE it fought against. How come the Srilankan authorities who requested INTERPOL to arrest K.P can register a Rehabilitation organization for him and open a bank account to operate in Srilanka? On which morale grounds will the Government of Srilanka will be able to request the International community to take action against the LTTE and its affiliated Organizations and to curb its fund raising activities? The lawmaker himself becomes the lawbreaker. Is it not?

It is the Srilankan State, which is sponsoring the Terrorist like K.P and supporting his criminal activities by allowing creating an organization to raise funds for regrouping and reorganizing the defeated LTTE again in the same soil where they were defeated. This act of supporting LTTE is also considered as a State Sponsored Terrorism. It’s a shame on this SLFP Government and President Mahinda Rajapakse, who claimed sole victory for defeating Terrorism are giving rebirth to Terrorism to flourish in Srilanka.

I remember very well the President Mahinda said once after the war, we have only two communities in Srilanka, one is Patriotic Srilankans and the other are Unpatriotic Srilankans. Does the President Start thinking that the criminal K.P and his International Terrorist gang are patriotic Srilankans and Srilankan who fought against them and the rest of all Srilankans who opposed to Terrorist are Unpatriotic?

Dear President,You can fool some Srilankans some time.You can fool some Srilankans all the time. But you can’t fool all the Srilankans all the time.
