EXCLUSIVE TO SRI LANKA GUARDIAN(September 07, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) Minister of Construction, Engineering Services, Housing and Common Amenities, Mr. Wimal Weerawansa has told the top brass of the State Intelligence Service that the members of the Janatha Wimikthi Peramuna operating in the North must eliminated fully otherwise the Government will loose its authority in the area.
Minister Weerawansa has met and requested the senior member of the State Intelligence Service attached to the Ministry of Defence that, “We should create false allegation against them (JVP) and arrest or eliminate them at grass root level. It is easy to blame them that they are searching for the hidden weapons of the Tamil Tigers to wage a war against the government.”
Furthermore, he has made a false statement to the senior defence officials that, 90 present of the Tamil people who have been resettled in the cleared areas are being given reliable information against the JVP activities in the North.
According to the source in the Ministry of Defence, “ Minister Weerawansa had highlighted that JVP activists are hiding in Jaffna, Vavuniya, Kilinochchi and Mullaitive and they are are plotting to strike against the government targets.”
