(March 18, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) From the Editors of Sri Lanka Guardian: - The Colombo Additional Magistrate today blamed the Terrorist Investigation Division (TID) for not adhering to a court order and sternly ordered the OIC of the Division to be summoned to court next week. According to media reports, a complaint had been lodged to court that the TID had arbitrarily arrested Major General Yakupiti Sunil Amarasena De Silva even after the court had granted him anticipatory bail.
It is clear that O.I.C of T.I.D is "pimping" the Terrorist Investigation Division (TID) as a "brothel" to Secretary of Defence Gotabhaya Rajapakse who is hell bent in destroying all political supporters of Gen. Sarath Fonseka. Gotabhaya's moves will definately have negative impact on the Army as he is arbitaraly arresting skilled and capable Army officers who fought against terrorism just for sympathizing with Gen. Sarath Fonseka. Furthermore, Defence Secretary's shameless moves to politicise the Terrorist Investigation Division (TID) will also effect the counter- terrorist capabilities of Sri Lanka and will affect the National Security of the country.

The Colombo Additional Magistrate today blamed the Terrorist Investigation Division (TID) for not adhering to a court order and sternly ordered the OIC of the Division to be summoned to court next week.
A complaint had been lodged to court that the TID had arbitrarily arrested Major General Yakupiti Sunil Amarasena De Silva even after the court had granted him anticipatory bail.
The Counsel submitted that the retired Major General was a supporter of General Sarath Fonseka during the Presidential Election and in fear that the TID would arrest him, the Major General had filed for an anticipatory bail application and obtained the bail from court.
The TID while granting bail to the Major General had ordered the TID not to arrest him on whatever cause.
However the TID, without adhering to the court order had arrested the Major General without the knowledge of the court.
After hearing the case, the Counsel Magistrate ordered the OIC of the TID to be present before court on March 25.
