(March 03, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) Sri Lankan democracy advocates request all democratic minded Sri Lankans to immediately boycott Sri Lanka telecom. Sri Lanka telecom is an instrumental arm and technological consultant for the cyber stalking division of Sri Lankan authorities. Experts from Sri Lanka telecom are used to hack and disrupt websites operated by pro democratic activists living in Sri Lanka abroad.
Sri Lanka Telecom also has a history of censorship. Currently it is censoring several websites that are against government supporting pro- democratic movement. http://www.lankanewsweb.com is one of prominent news sites that is blocked and cannot be accessible to Sri lanka Telecom users.
According to our sources inside Sri Lanka Telecom, Lalith Weeratunga and Gotabhaya Rajapakse are forefront in this cyber stalking and censorship program of the Sri Lanka Telecom. Sri Lanka democracy advocates request all democratic minded people to show their disgust at this undemocratic program by boycotting the Sri Lanka telecom with an immediate effect.
