(March 22, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) The body of Amila Sandaruwan, the child who was recently thrown into the Kalu Ganga, was taken to his place of residence at the tsunami housing complex in Panadura last night.
Sandaruwan who was rescured while floating in the river by a driver on the 11th of this month, was first admitted to the Nagoda hospital and later transferred to the Lady Ridgeway hospital in Colombo.
He battled for his life for 10 days with the aide of a respirator.
However the child passed away on Saturday morning despite the relentless efforts made by the hospital staff.
The magisterial inquest into the death and post mortem were carried out at the Lady Ridgeway hospital last morning.
