Time for Ranil to show courage by saying “Take Me Also”

(February 09, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) Country’s most popular opposition leader, Sarath Fonseka has been arrested and kept in military custody. His REAL offence is that we agreed with UNP,JVP and other opposition parties and dared face the president, in the last presidential elections.

His capacity to call a spade a space, corruption as corruption, gave a new life to the Sri Lanka’s opposition. He was able to represent people anger, unhappiness and frustrations. Though new to politics , he showed that he got all that makes a real opposition leader in hard times.

Naturally such leaders are punished by powers that be. His arrest only show that the government can not ignore him. Otherwise, who worries about a politician who has lost an election?

Real test now is for Ranil. Will he now say, Take me also. If he does he does have a REAL political future. Otherwise, he will be the real loser.
