Maheswaran’s brother contesting in Jaffna for the parliament election

(February 20, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) President’s brother Basil Rajapakse is contesting the forthcoming general election for the Gamapaha district. ri Lankan Cricketer Sanath Jayasooriya is nominated on behalf of United Peoples Freedom Alliance, and athlete Susanthika Jayasinghe too on behalf of ruling front is contesting for the Kegalle district. Other than north and east, where Tamils are populated areas of Nuwara Eliya, five Tamils are contesting on behalf of United National Party. In the meantime four persons are contesting for the ruling party.

Former Minister S.Maheswaran’s brother Wickrneswaran is contesting on behalf of Untied National party to the Jaffna district is according to sources.

Meanwhile Reports published that the main leaders of Tamil National Alliance and All Ceylon Tamil Congress former Parliament Member Gajendrakumar Ponnambalam had discords yesterday afternoon.
