Thugs should flee in next two weeks, warns the General

(January 05, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) Thugs will be given their due place in the near future, says General Sarath Fonseka. Addressing a mass rally held in support of his candidacy for presidency at the Campbell Park yesterday, the General said that he believed those thugs would flee the country in the next two weeks. “We cannot be controlled by thuggery. When I wore these clothes and went to the temple, that thug brought many people and they shouted opposite the temple.

“I had the strength to promptly deal with that thug then and there. I had around 60 security personnel with me. But we simply watched because we wanted to safeguard the sanctity of the sacred temple.

“Thereafter, who asked forgiveness from the venerable Chief Incumbent of the temple on behalf of that thug? It was the president!

“We have no reason to fear such thugs and fall back, as we did not fall back in fear of terrorists. We will take this fight towards victory with your strength and the strength of all those who are there around us to protect us.

“We will control these thugs with this strength. We will give these thugs their due place in the near future. I believe that these thugs will flee the country in the next two weeks,” said the General.
