(January 05, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) The Deputy Registrar Thero of the Malwathu Chapter has written to the Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation (SLRC) and the Independent Television Network (ITN) regarding some visuals aired by these institutions on several occasions.
The letter points out that these visuals, which were aired repeatedly, were only a section of what was in fact expressed by opposition leader Ranil Wickremasinghe when he met with the Chief Incumbent of the Malwathu Chapter.
The thero has noted that intellectuals and the public alike had pointed out that it had created a negative image amongst the public and went on to say that it was the responsibility of all media institutions not to act in a manner that is detrimental to any person, institution or party and that the relevant media organisations should look into it.
