(January 26, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) Giving a statement about his eligibility to vote in the presidential election, the opposition common candidate General Sarath Fonseka said that although he had registered his name with the electoral list, his name had not been included in the list.
"As a result, I could not cast my vote," said the General and added that his voters need not be concerned. According to the Constitution, as a citizen of this country, he could contest for the presidency, said the General.
