(December 29, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) President Rajapaksa’s son Yoshitha Rajapaksa has violated the Navy Act of 1950 by participating in his father's election campaign work, spokesman to Gen. Sarath Fonseka’s presidential campaign JVP MP Anura Kumara Dissanayake said.
Mr. Dissanayake addressing the media today said that Yoshitha, a second lieutenant of the Sri Lanka Navy was participating in and addressing several rallies.
“He is also the director of ‘Thaarunyata Hetak’ registered as a corporation. We are requesting the Navy Commander to give an explanation on how an officer in the rank of a second lieutenant can participate in election propaganda work”, he said.
