Councillor Daya Idaikadar meets Sri Lanka High Commissioner

( September 22, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) According to reliable sources, the pro-LTTE Councillor Daya Idaikadar has met the Sri Lankan High Commissioner Justice Nihal Jayasinghe last week.

The sources said that both the Councillor and High Commissioner have expressed satisfaction that it was a fruitful meeting.

Both the controversial Councillor and the High Commissioner is said to have come to some understanding on issues and the sources said that Cllr Daya Idaikadar is seeking access to Sri Lanka to meet government officials and undertake a visit to the north. Channelling funds to the government liberated north was also said to have been discussed.

Having maintained relative silence in his public campaign in favour of the LTTE for the past one year, sudden emergence of Cllr Daya Idaikadar to deal with the Sri Lankan High Commissioner is expected to cause consternation amongst his supporters.
