(August 05, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) A petition was filed in the Supreme court yesterday to declare the recommendations of the Special Presidential Commission, with regard to the raid on the Army Safe House at Millennium City in Athurugiriya, null and void.The petition was filed by Parakrama Dissanayake, who was a Colonel in the Army.
The petition has cited the retired Chief Justice, the President of the said commission and several others as respondents.
The petition states that as a result of the recommendations of the Presidential Investigation Commission, which inquired into the police raid on the Army safe house that took place in the year 2002, he has lost his post. -Sri Lanka Guardian
